| In our lives and our children's,
there are milestones and there are moments. Milestones like,
"Billy took his first steps today," and "Lisa
graduates this year," chronicle the passage of time,
with special attention paid to specific mileposts.
Moments are different. Moments are that unexpected and special
time when something happens that connects us and deepens our
bonds with those we love - that moment when everything feels
right, real, and complete.
As photographers, we certainly know how to photograph the
milestones in children's lives, and that's good. We all need
milestones. However, I think that if we were to photograph
from a 'moments' perspective, the result would be entirely
different. Something that expresses more about who and what
we are as defined by the moments in our lives, rather than
by the whens and wheres of our lives.
I believe our lives are defined more by
moments than by years and events, and I want to capture that
for you.
