Even though the interview was from a few years ago, I'm as convinced as ever that what I said is true. I am sure that there will always be a place for a very personal, and artistic approach to photographing people. "Photography is a rapidly growing and evolving industry, particularly portrait photography. Over the years I've seen photography moving in two directions; turn-around quick, machine made instant types of photographs, and on the other side, studios like ours, which are doing portrait photography from a personal approach, as an artistic form of expression and interpretation.

Much of society has been programmed to think that a good portrait is simply determined by a smile, but a good portrait is more than that. The subtleties of personality and human expression go much deeper than just a smile. To see the personality as it's conveyed through the eyes, body language, and yes, sometimes a smile, is what the portrait artist wants to capture. I want people to look at my work and see a captured personality, and a range of human emotions."
